Yeon Taek Yu, O.M.D., L.Ac. has been a licensed acupuncturist for 17 years. Dr. Yu earned his Bachelor of Sociology from Dungguk University in Korea. After some years, Dr. Yu decided to move to California in the United States to complete his Bachelor of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine at South Baylo University, School of Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture. Having found his passion in Traditional Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture, Dr. Yu continued his education at South Baylo University and earned his Master of Science in Oriental Medicine. As soon as he finished the master’s program, he went on to earn his Doctorate of Oriental Medicine.
Dr. Yu has certifications in acupuncture through the California State Board, as well as with the National Certification Commission Acupuncture Oriental Medicine. He has certifications in clean needle technique, facial acupuncture, and functional anatomy. Dr. Yu is a member of both the Korean Association of Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture in the USA, as well as in Korea, and at one point he was a chairman.
Dedicated to teaching students precise acupuncture and practice, Dr. Yu has developed an acupuncture software program; written and published an Acupoint guide book, as well as a Neuro acupuncture book. He has also taught facial acupuncture classes, served as a residency co-director at Midway Hospital; and taught at Anaheim General Hospital and Tustin Hospital. Not only has Dr, Yu’s focus been on education, but he also was the CEO for Apuncture, Inc.
Dr. Yu’s mission statement is to provide ethical, expeditious and effective patient care with acupuncture and herbal medicine.
